My goal with Datazone was to combine procedurally generated maps and weapons with incremental stat boosts. The map would generate when you entered the level, and you would occasionally get new weapons that would drop from enemies.
I had a working gameplay loop, but visually it looked not very good, and enemy and weapon part variety was also minimal. The enemy AI was also very poor, with the enemies just beelining for the player for the most part.
Unfortunately, classes were online for the entire third year due to covid, and my motivation levels were at an all time low. I'm still happy with what I had done, but I wish I was able to properly work on it at school.
I learned a lot about procedural generation with this project, and would love to do more with it in the future.
