I hadn't touched any game engine in a couple of years and I ended up working for 3 out of the 4 days so I definitely had a hard time getting much of anything done, but I was still proud of myself for completing a project, no matter how small.
Between what I had been learning in python around that time and what I alreadly learned about game dev in the past, it felt like it all started to come back to me part way through making this game. I had implemented a "rewind" mechanic, which just reset a timer and teleported you back to the start of the level if you died or ran out of time, but I had made an animated "rewind" overlay that I wanted to look like a VHS player rewinding a tape.
My biggest takeaway from Tape Escape was mostly reacquainting myself with the fundamentals of game development, while also learning a few new things about collision and signals.
